Enjoyed the various conversations about what a Voice Thread is. I found several uses that I could adapt to my classes including; the prediction key, problem solving, reading reviews for current events, commentaries for specific reading can work for my classes.

1 point for blogging about this on your blog. Is there any assignment or topic you will use in your class that would work well as a VoiceThread, either for a whole class who comments on one presentation such as the pumpkin one, or ones where your class would each have their own VT to create.

I am looking for ways to increase cooperative lessons and this looks like a good one to begin the year with. It meets my criteria: simple to do, fun to listen to the other voices, and a quick and easy way to grade an activity (no papers to bring with me)

Voice Thread is something I want to try with my classes when we do a book report. It would stream line the traditional paper and make be a less stressful book report. Instead of a power point report or paper that is singular in nature, this tool allows for a conversation with the class members. I would hope that a student who may be shy might feel empowered to make a comment that can be recorded with confidence and to have the “do-over” option until they feel the answer is what they wanted to say. Other book report options could include opportunity to summarize the storyline, to include personal reflection about a particular event or character (something about the inflection and tone of the human voice makes it interesting), and to open an opportunity for a debate over a specific topic.
